It's a big day for water harvesting in my home town. The EPA just formally announced its plan to work with five cities across the country on a new toolkit that will streamline low-impact development and the application of green infrastructure strategies. Santa Fe is the only city in the western United States to be selected, and the average rainfall in the four other cities is over four times greater than our own. I'm excited that my wife is the City of Santa Fe's River and Watershed Coordinator during this momentous time and that we have a mayor who understands that the importance and simple practicality of water harvesting.
Here is an article in the Albuquerque Journal about the event.
